Ça y'est je suis dedans!

Ok, so I'm officialy living in the 18ème arrondissement! Well, not totaly offical (I mean I haven't signed a contract or anything, and as for now it's only until end of september :P, wish it could be for longer...)
But all my stuff are here, and I've put everything in order and feel very very at home here:)

I have taken some pictures of my room, but I'm gonna take some pics of the quartier I'm living in as well, as soon as I have the time to just take a walk with my camera. This weekend has been crazy, it's been tiring.

I now need to pack my suitcase for wednesday(will be home at midnight tomorrow). Sweden here I come!

04:18 and I'm still not asleep

...and I have to get up at 6:00am tomorrow!!!
So that leaves me one and a half hour to sleep...if I manage to.

I started finish up packing. I forgot to get some duck tejp to the boxes from Cojean, which means I couldn't pack the rest of my stuff in the boxes, WHICH MEANS it was totaly useless to have brought them home!! I just packed the rest of my stuff in plastic bags.

I've been looking up interior design websites. I don't really know how to get my room nice, because I have a really ugly mezzanine in my room, which looks like a big piece of wine red block. It's really big and ugly, and depressing to look at. It would hide a lot of my stuff though. I'll see how I will get my room ready. I just LOVE the big window I have, and the small balcony :) and the fact that it's so close to the metro, no more scary walks in the bois de vincennes.

I will be really close to les puces de saint ouen, which is one of the world's most famous fleamarket, it's really big, so i'll try to find myself a nice antique-looking mirror for a good price.

I really should try to get some sleep...

ICECREAM after a sweaty day :P

I don't think I've done anything but sweat today. The sun in Paris is going up and down, but the humidity definitely stays up all the time. The metro is horrible.
This morning I was stressing, because I was gonna meet up Juliana(my next colocataire) at Chatelet to get my key. And I came to metro to notice I had forgotten my passe navigo, so I had to half-run all the way back home and half-run all the way back to the metro. Already there I was sweating away.
After work I had to stress home because Carlos was gonna be at my place with his car and we were gonna bring all my heavy stuff to Porte Clignancourt. So there I ran up and down 3 floors with heavy tables, and big boxes. Then we got stuck in the traffic on the way there.
At Porte Clignancourt we had to bring all my heavy stuff 5 floors up! No elevator, I think we did 2 days at the gym there already. Carlos drove us halfway home. It took us 1,5h to get halfway home, when it should take like 20 min with car back to Vincennes. But we realized it would go way faster with the metro. Going by car around 5-6pm on a friday is definitely not the right time to drive, I know now.
There, me and Vincent were dead so we had a quick dinner at McDo Vincennes, the only Mcdonalds I can go to. We went to my place freshened up. And off we were back to Butte Chaumont where we got stuck for hours with the car.
Memo was having a good bye soirée at a really cute bar called Rosa Bonheur in the middle of the parc. Really cute, and I love the parc Butte Chaumont. I've only been there once, and I had forgotten how beautiful it is.

could I be more stressed??!!!!

I think I picked like the worse weekend ever to move. Like I'm moving all my stuff this weekend, and having everything organized so that people can help me is a pain in the ass. And I also have to figure out what I should bring in the car, what I should move now and what I should leave, what I should do with all Nyko's stuff. AAAhhhh, it's killing me!
I'm also stressed about where I should adress all my mail. Because I will probably have a lot of important mail coming from school and stuff...

Don't like people that can't give a concrete answer

I just hate to deal with people that don't give a clear answer. I'm afraid I'm like that, I hope not though. That's what people mean by liking people who know what they want, and they give something clear. Not this, yes I can, but no I can't then then and then, but otherwise it should work. I'm like WTF, I don't wanna deal with you anymore...
And it kind of a general thing here in Paris I've noticed, people make things complicated, people give complicated answers. I find it annoying, I just like simplicity, yes, no.

Officialy dead

Damn you windows situated on my roof. Last night's rain had me woken up at 4am. And today Vincent had told me I was working from 12:00 to 15:00, but I actually worked from 12:00 to 19:00. So I was a bit annoyed with all the costumers.

re-doing mum's wardrobe

...but it's really ugly!
I was trying to re-do my mother's dress, because the elastic is really old, and rips apart just of a touch. I also sew it in a bit around the chest. But I just look like a femme de menage when I'm wearing it, looks horrible.

I told Mme Caulin I was gonna leave in the end of this month. She wasn't very happy about me leaving so soon, and told me I should at least give 2 months notice. But I think she is a bit old and have lost a lot of her memory. Because when I told her in april I was gonna leave she didn't have any problems wih me leaving in just two weeks. She didn't even comment or anything, she was just like: OK, if that's what you want, sure.
And now all of a sudden, it's too short of a notice, I don't understand.
Besides I hate these rules, they don't make any sense with each other, the first landlord wants you to give 1-3 months notice before leaving while the next landlord wants you to move in ASAP!

I'm gonna try to go to bed. It's so damn hot here in Paris, and my room is like damn sauna. I can't take it anymore, feels like I'm gonna suffocate. I know I should be used to this heat, but I just like the heat if I know Im gonna get out of it sometime.

Love and hate

Today I met up with Lilian in the city center. We went shopping, I bought two pairs of Cheap Monday jeans. I just love their jeans, although they just last for like a year, lol. But they fit relly good on me and has a reasonable price. And I like the staff who works there. It's also much cheaper to buy them here than in Paris. Normaly everytime I go back to Sweden, Weekdays always have a sale, but they didn't this time, so I was a bit disappointed.
Then me and Lilian ran from store to store in the rain, took the one hour-long train and all I had in my head was "wow, I'm happy I don't live here anymore". Stockholm is so cold and rainy right now, I just wanna go back to Paris. And I dont find any inspiration at all here, no diversity at all. Everything looks so square, everybody dress the same, no crazy people in the public transport, no fun!
I got home, put on my sweatpants and t-shirt and I'm watching the Hills while eating my mum's jumboshrimps baked in mango and banana leaves with rice. mmm YUMMY :) Now, that's a reason to go back home!

What am I getting coming back to?

Home sweet Home

It's afternoon and I don't have anything particular to do right now. It's grey and rainy outside which makes me not feel so bad about staying in watching good tv. Sweden has such a good tv compare to France.
The trip went pretty smooth. The staff at the airport were so talkative this morning, it was really funny. The guy at the check-in complimented my shoes, and started asking me about Swedish cities. Then I come to the customs and the lady starts speaking swedish to me. I don't know how she knew I was swedish, she is definitely the first person ever to directly assume I was swedish. And then she asked what origine I was, and I said my parents were from Indonesia, and so she started speaking Indonesian to me. And then the two guys she was checking also started say some words in Indonesian.
Nyko: Thanks to you I've actually started noticing the containers that goes on the bottom of every airplane. Funny, because I didn't even know they existed before you started going thru you school project to me.
I sat beside a kind of weird man on the flight. Of course I always get the middle seat. On my right side I had this swedish woman coming home from a vacation or something (don't like swedish people when they are in another country, they act like no one understands you, and speaks with a really loud and cheeky voice), and on my left I had this man that looked like he worked for Louis Vuitton and had wine and started looking at me in a really weird and annoying way. And he asked me if there was a time change between Paris and Stockholm...Then I think he was the one farting all the time. It started smell really bad and he didn't stop moving around on his seat.

I've spent the last couple of hours being me, going thru all my photoalbums and taking pictures of all the old photos. I will probably put them up on sunday when I get back to Paris.
Apparently it's gonna rain everyday when I'm here. Yippi!

Sleepless night

I'm going back to Stockholm tomorrow. I'm really exited!!
Although I do have a lot of things to think about....Like if I'm moving or not... I just don't feel like dealing with it...
Juliana (friend from Capoeira) has a great appartement she wants to share, but it's only for 3 months if not the agency agrees on renewing the contract, and that's a big IF. I really don't feel like staying in this house. I want a bigger and lighter space.

My dress quasi-done

Here are some shots of my dress, it's not totaly done. I still have to cut it shorter. And sew it in around the shoulders, and look for some nice pearl buttons in an antique shop,I wan't it to look really vintage.

Hassan's an Astrid's Birthday

After a long day of work (from 7:30-15:00 with Kuljit in the kitchen and the best Cojean playlist ever) I went for a capoeira class, it was a free class which meant we got to train on whatever we think is best for personal improvements. After that Juliana came to my place to look at Marion's room and tried to decide if she was gonna take it or not. She said it was a bit too small.
Then I had to hurry to a night out with some colleagues to celebrate Hassan and Astrid. Thought I was gonna be late, turned out I was early. Hassan and Kuljit stood outside of Hide Out waiting for people to arrive. I decided we were gonna go and sit down on the quai instead of going to the bar. We met up with Astrid, bought some beer and went to the quai. Luca arrived and we had the birthday cake, a very chocolat-y one, made me gag after one piece.
Then we went to Thomas place and didn't do very much, but it kept us from freezing at least.
Les mecs continued to a soirée at Hôtel de Ville, me and Astrid took the last metro home. I came home around 2:30 am, and watched an episode of One tree Hill. Some message exchange with the guys to check if everyone arrived whole and healthy to wherever their destinations were.
3:30 am dodo...zzz

Life feels like a dream

I think that a terasse with sun in the morning is gonna be a big priority for my next appartement. I'm so happy to live where I live now. It's 09:30 and the sun is shining, I'm having my breakfast in the sun on the terasse. This house is exellent in the summer :)

Today is Lundi de Pentecôte, I finaly found the definition of this holiday:

Whit Monday has been one of the 11 French bank holidays for a very long time, particularly appreciated as it is a relaxing - and usually sunny - 3-day weekend during which families and friends get together and enjoy traditional French food!

Pentecost Monday is indeed part of the four public holidays in May which give French people the opportunity to go for a long weekend break - called Pont ("bridge") in French.

Following Whitsun, the Lundi de Pentecôte is actually part of a religious tradition held 50 days after Easter to celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles (disciples of Jesus Christ). The British name, "Whit Monday", derives from Whitsunday which refer to the white garments worn on Pentecost by the newly baptized, whilst the French national holiday is called "Lundi de Pentecôte", originating from pentêkostê meaning "fiftieth" in Greek.

So normaly people are free, but I have to work :( Wish I didn't have to, it's such a nice day, and this weekend felt way to short.
